The day began with a meeting at school. We got into the school bus and headed to the "Pentagonito" which is located in the district of San Borja. We were here for many reasons but only one goal. First, s called "Corre Conmigo were running a 5K called "Corre Conmigo" with all the members of the Innovation Academy and our teacher, Mr. Topf, with the goal of raising awareness for a common disease which is Down Syndrome. We stretched, warmed up physically and mentally and then we began running. At the end of the race I think we could all say that we could barely walk but at the end of the day it was worth it.
Straight from the Pentagonito we headed to Larcomar were we planned on renting bicycles to ride from Larcomar to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC - Museo de Arte Contemporáneo).

We had finished the race earlier than we thought so we were ahead of time for the rest of the activities and so we stopped at Larcomar to film some of our videos for the Innovation Academy. This time was quite efficient and interesting as we all gave our own opinion and vision of what this program is about, shared ideas and most of all we combined our creative minds to create cool ways of filming this.
It was time for our ride on bikes to the MAC museum. We rented the bikes and rode through the "malecon" located in the district of Miraflores. The museum didn’t seem so far away but, of course, being in a bicycle is nothing similar to being a streetwalker. We could see the museum from where we were but there was no sign of a street where we could continue to ride our bikes, so we took risks and found other routes. Finally, we did find our way to the museum but this was no easy thing for some of us as our way there was a little bumpy and I'm not talking about the streets. We encountered some problems with the bicycle’s chain and as we were far away from the renting place we had to solve this on our own. For the ones who helped it seemed quite hard but we took care of that and we were finally entering the doors of the MAC museum.
MAC MUSEUM
The museum was large and had a variety of art media which included paintings, sculptures, photography, and even film. The museum had a diverse variety of amazing artists who come from all over the world such as Scarlett Hooft Graafland from the Netherlands. From Latin artists to European and American artists, the MAC was diverse in all senses.
Unluckily for us, our time was running out and we had to leave fast from the museum but another visit its on my plans and would love to see more in depth the concepts of the art they have and learn more about the story behind each artwork.
We returned the bicycles to the rental center in Miraflores and then, once again, got on the bus but this time we were headed to Mamacona located one hour to the south of Lima. All of us looked forward to getting there for many reasons but most of all we all looked forward to eating lunch (finally!). In Mamacona, we ate a delicious lunch and then every one of us took turns to ride the horses. Some of us faced some fears and others were quickly in for the ride and enjoyed every second. In my case, I have been riding horses since I was very young but every time I get onto one its always the same feeling of nervousness; it’s only a matter of trust and keeping myself calm. Two minutes after I was just enjoying the ride and having fun with it.
The day ended about five o'clock in the afternoon with a very cold weather. As I was heading home I thought was incredible how much we had done in less than ten hours from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon. We ran, rode bikes and horses, but most of all we all got to know each other a little better which is going to be essential for next semester and the next two years that we will be spending together. We learned many things related to the activities we had throughout the day, their deeper meanings, and how this is related to our topics for next year.
The simulation day for the Innovation Academy was a total success and I think we all managed to do everything we wanted to and above of all, had a great time spending the day together.
