MIDTERM REFLECTION
My GROWTH, SKILLS earned, valuable LEARNINGS
One of my biggest goals this semester is learning to synthesize information. I realized this was a problem during iWeek and Mr. Bonnici encouraged me focus on that and try to improve on it. So I did. I want to challenge myself to practice this more, which I did by synthesizing the most essential information from each chapter of The Lean Startup, the book we’ve been reading in the IA about business.
Synthesizing information applied to mostly everything I did. Whether it was synthesizing the different ideas I had for a possible business, information for the Business Model Canvas about Human Resources, blogging, or reading a book, it applied in a variety of ways. Because of this, this skill was even more relevant for me to fully develop.

When reading the book, the most important synthesis I took from it were strategies that we could use with BlendZ, connections I made with other businesses, or how it could be applied on our own. This was when I validated my learning; In other words, this is how I applied and demonstrated what I had learned--our proof. I aspire to open my own business some day, or even work at a company where I can apply what I’ve learned and put some value in it. I believe that everything I am doing until today has been valuable because I’ve had the opportunity to experience a variety of areas like design and human resources, things I was always eager to test for myself.
It’s been about three months only since we started. In all honesty, when I began this reflection I had no idea what to write about. However, I took the time to reflect on this, and I have noticed my growth, the skills I’ve earned, and the value I’m taking out of this-- it is truly fulfilling.
