I reflected a lot about this chapter in Mindset because it really got to me. I blogged about how dedication is an essential key for success and it has a lot to do with talent.
" BECOMING IS BETTER THAN BEING"
- Carol S. Dweck
You know, when you are choosing what career path to follow some people choose what is connected to their talent and they are sure about it because they know they are good at it. I realized this was the reason I had had a tough time choosing a career. However, I had learned that whatever you like to do, with dedication and effort you can achieve that. Again, talent isn't everything.
I don't know if I misinterpreted this but I surely know that the minute I saw it (probably a year ago) I went back to thinking the first idea: what happens to those who haven't discovered their talent yet?
On the other hand, I do believe that for those who have discovered their innate talent they should use for their advantage. But exactly that: for their advantage. As the saying says: "things in excess is never good." Well, "overusing" your talent isn't either because it's not always going to save you.
