The days past by and I still didn't have a single interview. I was about to panic. It seems a long time until the due date but days fly by fast like a speedball.
On Friday morning, I had arranged an interview with Hernan Carrasco, in charge of Human Resources at FDR. My goal is to try to interview different people who work in the human resources and try to figure out if gender has any impact to hire someone.
In schools, we often see that women are very predominant and especially in elementary school there is the tendency to have more female teachers than male ones. Why? I had to find out!

Interview questions:
- Is there a difference when hiring a man or a women?
- What percentage of employees at school are women?
- What are roles do women play in this institution?
- What are some qualities that women can offer than men don't?
- In the administration center, how many are women?
- Do you think that women prevail in schools?
- How is it different working with a women?
After the interview I learned lots of things about the process of hiring someone and also saw the opinion of someone different than what I had seen while doing research. However, the focus I was taking when I interviewed him was only teachers but this school doesn't hire ONLY teachers, they also hire an administration team, janitors, bus drivers, security guards, etc. Every single person is taking in consideration and there is when you see perfectly gender discrimination in the workplace.
The interview was a great way to begin the creation process of the documentary because listening to other perspectives often helps you be more open-minded and realize some things that you weren't aware of before. I still have a lot of work to do but after this interview I definitely felt much ready than before. Even if it's small progress, it will help to lead me to something big in the next few weeks.
