About a month ago, we decided as a class that we needed to start finding something we are really passionate about, if we haven't found it yet. I was one of those people. However, one of the reasons this was hard to do, was because none of us had the time to do something different, something we wanted to do a long time ago but never had the time.
A few weeks ago, I was feeling really stressed because of so much work I had to do for school and I began having severe headaches, especially after school. And I realized one of the reasons was because I was getting home really stressed for being involved in so many activities at school and having more in my plate than I could handle. Luckily, as a class we decided we wouldn't get any homework for the Innovation Academy. This was the most amazing thing ever! However, we did have to do something during this free time and this would be our opportunity to try something new. |
I had been going to the gym since June this year and I saw that they had Yoga and Pilates classes but I never had the time to try some of them out because some were really long. Now that I had more time in my schedule, I decided to finally try them out!
For already three weeks now, I have been doing yoga and it has really helped my headaches and stress level decrease! I still haven't tried out the pilates classes but I am really excited to try this too one of these days.

Yoga was not as easy as I it looked every day I passed by the classes. Turns out, it really hurts! It takes a lot of courage to stay the whole hour! Some positions help your health a lot and this motivates me a lot, but it is not an easy task! It still takes time to get used to being in the same position for a long time. However, one of the most difficult parts is to remember to breathe continuously and through your nose. Sometimes we are used to inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, but this is not how we are supposed to breathe. When we inhale from the nose, a lot of bacteria is sucked in through our noses and if we exhale through the mouth, then all that bacteria will be stored inside the nouse for a long time, and this is not good for our health. I'm still trying to work on this, but it hasn't been easy! |
One of the things I want to take time to do is also Photography. As you may know, taking photos is something I'm really passionate about and I want to take some time to go out and explore, even if it is just outside in the park. Recently, I have been involved a lot in taking pictures of school events (like sports and concerts), but I prefer taking pictures of nature, landscapes, and portraits.
About a year ago, I bought a Macro lens which specializes on close up pictures of plants or insects. I love these kinds of pictures, but I haven't had the time to play with it as much. All it takes is go out into nature and snap some shots of intersting animals I see and that's it! I've been wanting to do this for a long time and I know this is the time to do it.
On the other hand, photography isn't only about taking pictures, is also knowing how to EDIT them and I NEED to learn how to do it. I have been using Lightroom a little bit, but only know the basics. I'm planning on learning more about this so I can start editing my own photos better. |
